Horse Painting

This is a link to a very delightful video of Laura and Gus working on a painting together. This was recorded at the We Can Ride facilities in Maple Plain, MN.  A canvas was ‘splotched’ with paint and then covered with food grade plastic wrap to prevent the horse from getting covered in paint, you know, like you would wear a glove for your hand. Food is then placed on the top and the horse eats the food, moving the paint underneath, like a brush but a horse’s mouth. Lift the plastic wrap, add some more paint and cover it up. Turn the canvas and add more food. Repeat as often as you like, or until the horse gets bored or full.

Hangin’ with Horses at We Can Ride

Laura has recently started attending horse therapy sessions at We Can Ride, after many years away. She has a long history of loving horses and participating with this great organization.

The horse with the mask is named McDreamy. He lost his left eye and is recovering from that. He is very kind and used to be a race horse.

Gus is the large black and white horse. We got to watch him play and Laura was able to spend time touching him. Gus is also very calm and very kind.
